Institute records of joint operations with Rangers note a recurring pattern: any pre-war technology recovered in the field becomes Ranger property by the time the report is filed. The Institute has stopped contesting the practice. The Dove Creek file is closed but cited frequently.

Caravan guards have noticed the Rangers all wear the same cut of leather duster, the same style of badge, the same belt rig. Traders who deal in pre-war media say the Rangers learned the look from old film reels recovered from a drive-in theater. The Rangers do not deny it.

A cassette journal attributed to a Ranger who survived the Red Canyon engagement describes the ambush as "called in by someone who knew our route, our numbers, and our resupply window." The recording lists nine names of suspected leaks. The list is incomplete.
