Mark the Hum
I need three sites surveyed for the hum I keep picking up at night - places the locals avoid without knowing why. Plant a beacon at each. It'll log the signal long enough for me to triangulate. Don't open the casing. Half of it I don't understand myself yet.
Messages when activated
- The beacon's needle drifts, then locks
- A low tone, just under hearing, settles in
- The casing warms faintly under your palm
- Reading captured. The wind doesn't notice.
