   Move the still away from the beam. Fire in a settlement is everyone's emergency.

   You carefully shift the rig away from the wood and smother the charring with a handful of sand. The beam is scorched but intact. When the operator returns, she thanks you - and offers a jar of the finished product.

   Falha

   You grab the pot to move it and the copper tubing disconnects. Alcohol vapor hits the open flame and there's a sharp whoosh of blue fire. You jump back in time. The still is ruined but the building is fine. The operator returns to find you standing over the wreckage.

   Walk away. The owner left it, the owner can deal with it. You're not responsible for other people's fire hazards.

   You leave the alley. Not your still, not your beam, not your problem. The operator presumably returns and handles it. You never hear about a fire, so apparently it worked out.

   That distillation setup is wrong - the condenser angle will produce methanol. You can fix it.

   The condenser coil is too short and the temperature is too high - this rig is producing a methanol-ethanol mix that could blind or kill whoever drinks it. You lower the flame, extend the coil with a spare piece of copper tubing, and adjust the angle. The output immediately runs cleaner. You leave a note: "Fixed your still. You were making poison. You're welcome."

   Falha

   You adjust the condenser angle but misjudge the thermal differential. The output flow stops completely - the coil is now too cool and the vapor is condensing too early, pooling in the wrong section. The operator will need to disassemble and restart. Your note says: "Tried to fix your still. Sorry."
