Tiers
Almost everything in Afterglow has a tier. Each tier asks for a skill level and a facility level, and blueprints move up a tier through research. This is what changes from one tier to the next.

How to move up a tier
- Get the tier 1 blueprint: most are sold by NPC traders in the settlements (see the market).
- Research it at the Library with a Research Computer Mk 1 and research insights: the result is the tier 2 blueprint of the same line, usually with another name. It asks for level 3–4 in the crafting skill.
- Research the tier 2 blueprint the same way to get the tier 3 one (level 6–7 in the crafting skill).
Research insights: Ballistic Research Insight, Chemical Research Insight, Circuitry Research Insight, Cognitive Research Insight, Culinary Research Insight, Defensive Research Insight, Mechanical Research Insight, Metallurgic Research Insight, Textile Research Insight.
