Settlers near Prosperity tell a story about a trader who kept a scorpion in a jar on his belt for luck. Said it always pointed its claws toward water. Worked perfectly for years. Until one day it pointed straight up at the Scar and never moved again.

Desert patrols report finding scorpions arranged in perfect concentric circles around certain rocks at dawn. The rocks themselves test normal: no heat, no magnetism, nothing measurable. Just ordinary stone.
