Codex entry

These stages unlock codex entries for Mimic.

1. Entry 1

   Tissue samples contain genetic material from at least eleven distinct species, none integrated into a stable genome. The acidic mucous layer maintains a pH below 1.2 indefinitely without degrading the host membrane. The mechanism preventing autolysis remains unidentified.

2. Entry 2

   Settlers near old gas stations check the shadows under abandoned cars before parking next to them. Children are taught to throw a rock first, then wait. If the rock makes a wet sound, the spot is bad.

3. Entry 3

   Techno-shaman oral tradition holds that a mimic remembers everything it eats. An old recording, found on a cassette in a roadside cooler, captures one whispering softly the same six-digit number for nineteen minutes.
